To many of us abusive relationships have been a normal part of everyday life. A person doesn’t need to be physically injured to be abused. This can manifest in psychological bullying, controlling behaviour or being restricted financially, leaving us believing we are powerless to escape or make changes to lead happy lives. 

Whether the abuse is current or in the past, it can still affect what we think of ourselves and how we live right now.
